October 26th 1980 was the date and the Forsgate Race of Champions was going strong.

The beginning of an era with the Raceway Park track crew.

Still sponsored by the Forsgate country club the third annual Race of Champions took place on October 28th.

A popular part of intermission that would  last well into the history of the Race of Champions was the mini bike race where local expert riders would compete on mini bikes.

Jimmy Carter was the President and Bob Hannah was the Supercross champion on a Yamaha YZ250.
