In his first professional event Frankie Lettieri was 55th fastest.
450 Class
Ty Wozney was 77th fastest.
Ronnie Stewart was 55th fastest.
Anthony Roth was 51st fastest only 1 second off of qualifying pace.

8 Reasons You Need to be at Unadilla on August 14th
After a 2 week break the Lucas Oil AMA National Series returns to action on Saturday August 14th at the Unadilla Valley Sports center in New Berlin NY. Affectionately know as Unadilla the series enters it’s home stretch with only 4 rounds left. For fans in the Northeast this is a must attend event and here’s why:
#1 James Stewart is back. With zero championship points in the 2010 outdoors the San Manual/L&M Backed Stewart is rumored to be making his return to racing for the last 4 nationals starting with Unadilla. In the past Stewart has had a love/hate relationship with the track and went home in an ambulance on a couple of occasions. Stewart beat those demons in 2008 by winning at Unadilla. With no championship on the line you can expect Stewart to give it his all.
#2 Stewart vs. Dungey Ryan Dungey has a comfortable points lead in the 450 class. Will he settle for second behind Stewart and the points or does he have something to prove to the mx world who say he only won the SX championship because Stewart was out?
#3 It’s Unadilla. Celebrating their 40th year in 2009 Unadilla has played host to several Nationals, GPs and the Motocross des Nations over the years. No other track on the circuit has the history that Unadilla has.
#4 Can Canard make it 4 in a row? By winning the last 3 national overalls Geico Powersports Honda rider Trey Canard has closed to within 38 points of series leader Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Christophe Pourcel. Can Trey close the gap even more or will the crafty Frenchman open his lead even more.
#5 Amateur Racing @ U2 Taking place the Friday before and Sunday after the national is a complete schedule of amateur racing at Unadilla’s sister track U2.
for more information on amateur racing click this link
#6 The sound of 2-strokes. Continuing this fan favorite from 2009 Unadilla will one again host the Two-Stroke Challenge as part of Sunday’s racing action. Braaapp!!
#7 Amateur racers making their Pro debut: With Loretta Lynn’s in their shadows several racers plan on making their pro debuts at Unadilla. You can look back in the years to come and say I was there when…. As of right now the rumored local riders include Frankie Lettieri and Lowell Spangler…perhaps there’s more. Come to Unadilla and see.
#8 It’s close to home. For Northeast fans Unadilla is one of the closest professional races. Drive up on Friday and stay at a local hotel in Utica or Binghampton or leave early on Saturday morning and spend the day cheering on your favorite pro.
There you have it. 8 reasons for you to be at Unadilla on the 14th. See you there.

Series Statistics – Television:
The 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship is again being broadcast both nationwide and internationally via NBC Sports, SPEED, ESPN Brazil, Rush HD, Fuel TV, and more. Live broadcasts are a staple of the television package, and fans worldwide have the opportunity to view the entire race in real time from the comfort of their own homes.
American motocross is truly an international sport, and with so many great competitors and athletes from around the globe, fans from those same locations can enjoy watching on Saturdays.
Internationally, our series has reached an astounding 450 million homes across 80 countries and on 4 continents!
Our combined domestic U.S. television viewership is strong as well:
Hangtown: 629,000
Freestone: 284,000
High Point: 753,000
Budds Creek: 361,000
Thunder Valley: 367,000
RedBud: 663,000
Total U.S. television viewers to date: 3,057,000
MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli Sports will continue to focus and develop the content distribution to the global platform and we expect to be able to continue the momentum throughout the 2010 season and into 2011.
Series Statistics – On Site:
Despite the tough economy, our onsite live attendance has been up at every event over 2009. Fans have enjoyed increased VIP viewing platforms and better sight lines throughout the tracks. For 2010, as an added attraction for our fans, many tracks now allow open pits. Open pits allows our fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite riders and teams and to see the spectacular and colorful spectacle that is the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
2010 Attendance to date:
Hangtown: 20,500
Freestone: 17,300
High Point: 18,600
Budds Creek: 18,740
Thunder Valley: 18,350

In addition, the amateur racing programs, which take place both before and after the Saturday races, have seen significant jumps in attendance. Thus far, more than 3,500 family-oriented amateur riders have competed on the same weekend and on the same tracks as the top pro riders. Most of these participants will camp and spend the entire weekend at the track, while bringing various friends and family along as well.
Series Statistics – Internet:
One of our biggest draws for non-attending fans is our live and free showing of the first motos on AlliSports.com. These viewership numbers show that AMA Motocross has a dedicated worldwide fan base that tunes in each Saturday.
Motocross on AlliSports.com to date represents over 238,000 total streams and an average of 40,000 visits to the site each race day in order to view the live stream. Site traffic is up substantially as well, with users spending nearly 34 minutes on the site per visit.
MX Sports Pro Racing, in conjunction with Racer X Illustrated and AlliSports.com, also produces a series of weekly recap videos, which are designed to summarize the action and keep fans updated on the major happenings at each event. Hosted by Jason Weigandt and produced by Racer X‘s Matt Francis, these videos have proven to be very popular.
Also, the online viewership numbers do not reflect the series-related video content being produced by other media partners like Transworld Motocross, Vurb Moto, Vital MX, Cycle News, Racer X, and more.

Tim Ferry Retires
Here is a press release from Tim Ferry announcing his retirement.
Tim has a bit of a special connection with New Jersey. As a privateer early in his career Mike Rossini of RRP took Timmy under his wing and helped shape his career. He raced many times at Raceway Park and even came back as a Kawasaki Factory rider to do exhibitions and sign autographs for his fans. Ferry will certainly be missed on the National and Supercross tour.
Good Luck to Ferry in all of his future endeavors.
Tim Ferry Press Release
Former Factory Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki rider Timmy Ferry announced today that he’s retiring from professional motocross effective immediately. Ferry has been trying to recover from a broken heel suffered at the 2009 Daytona Supercross and although he came back to race last summer, the injury lingered and prevented “Red Dog” from riding to the best of his ability.
“Going into 2010, I had a couple of offers to race but I thought it was best to just heal up and try to get back to being able to train and ride the way I need to in order to be competitive. Unfortunately, my foot has not allowed me to do that.” says Ferry “I can’t race to the level I was use to so it is time to hang up my boots”
With a professional career that started in 1991 as a multi-time amateur champion, Ferry has certainly left a mark on professional supercross/motocross with the 1997 125 East Coast Supercross championship, a 3-time member of Team USA at the Motocross des nations, two 125 supercross wins, four AMA motocross national wins, an AMA rookie of the year award in 1992 and the top privateer award in supercross in 1999.
Having achieved a career that spanned so long and produced so many wins and podium finishes certainly makes it easier to accept retiring for the 35-year old Ferry.
“I can’t believe that I’ve been able to do as much as I have in the sport and I’m grateful for all the fans that cheered me on over the years as well as the relationships that I’ve made. Everything I have in my life has been because of motocross and even though I feel like I’m ending my career a little prematurely, I have no regrets with how everything has turned out” said Ferry.
“I had a ton of fun in my career, especially the last few years when I rode for Monster Energy Kawasaki and I’d like to thank those guys for everything they’ve done for me. I’d like to thank everyone at O’Neal, Scott, Etnies, Gaerne, OMS Sports and most of all my coach and trainer Dean Golich and the CTS crew for always keeping me in great shape. Also my doctors Warren Kramer, Thomas Bienz, Sten Kramer, Greg Solis, Gardner Tarlow and Stanley Moles for being there for me.”
